It may well be August but here at the Academy the autumn/winter stock has started to hit down.
While there are still some great bargains to be had in the sale, it’s always good to get a glimpse of what we will be wearing as the weather cools down, and this season is no different.
Denim is a classic which never disappears but this season Scotch and Soda and Denham have surpassed themselves, with some cool vintage inspired washes and hand finishes which give your jeans that great worn in look. Quirky details from Scotch such as braces or striped lining which can be shown in a turn up, add that twist, while Denham stay true to their vintage roots, taking inspiration from heritage styles and washes.
As fashion goes, you can never go far wrong with jeans and a tee, but that doesn’t mean they have to be boring!
Pair your hand finished jeans, either skinny, carrot or loose fit, with a pocket detail tee and you can’t go far wrong. Simple tees with print pocket detail in Aztec or camo, look cool and show you’re ahead of the game. New brand A Question Of? and RVLT have some great ones this season.
Just throw on a vintage inspired worker jacket from Denham, or a waterproof hooded one from RVLT and you’re sorted!

Denham jeans are for the real denim heads out there, as the brand puts in such attention to detail with many of it’s features being noticeable only to the real conniseaur. They come in several fits from skinny through to loose but the highest end pairs are woven on original Japanese looms. They have a denim library in Amsterdam and offer a made to measure service where you can custom order your very own pair.
